Why Do Platies Do This?

Well about 5 months ago i was changing my tank from a 70 gal to a 10 gal. I decided to get platies and when i got these platies, they pooped a lot for like a week and then stopped pooping so much. I upgraded to a 20 gal about 3 months ago and i cycled it with some water from the 10 gal and i moved the platies there, they are all happy. I decided to add 4 more platies to make my school of platies 10. The 4 new platies are pooping so much like the other ones did when i first got them. Is this because of the new environment and they are getting used to it? I think it's weird and ugly because the strings of poop are so long and they swim around with them like nothing.

hmmm, that is weird maybe you are using different food than the LFS and they are getting used to it, or maybe it they are getting used to their new home, ive never had platies so i wouldnt know why they do that
