Why do I put myself through the distress of looking at bettas at the chain LFS? I can't bear it, I want to take them all home. They look at you with such eager little faces, or else they are barely moving at the bottom. Their fins are shreddy and they have white areas all over their bodies. Even PETCO who was doing so well, had such sickly looking bettas when I was there last night. I swear everytime that I will not go back-- yet I do in search of "the" betta, yet I so want to take home a sick one and nurse it back to health. Why don't I? Because I've spent hundreds of dollars on sick bettas and lost them anyway. It hnurts too much. Thnx for listening.

i know how bad it can be but think of it that all those you did loose you gave them a great home with a loving home to spend there last days with :good:

I feel your pain! :(
I always try so hard not to look at the fish because I know the next minute I'll be begging to take one home! I once saw a little boy with just a stub for a tail, I wanted to rescue him so much! Even more when I still saw him there next week :(

You can just succumb like I did today. I'll have to get new pictures of my new boy when he's settled back in PA.

I have no willpower.

There was a nice short tale platnum at my LFS forever, I a\wanted to get him but he looked bad and was $17.99 :( I think I saw him there for a month!

I know, I feel so guilty especially when they're all wiggly and lively.
It's like they're saying "Pick me, Pick me! or maybe it's more like "Get me the HELL OUTTA HERE!" :shout:
