Why do cons do this?

Sometimes after my cons eat a piece of the flake food I feed them they will blow it out throught their gills, why do they do this?

i don't know, but my smaller cockatoo's do that also with blood worm..

Yeah it was pretty interesting there were little bits of flake that were floating around and I didnt know how it got there until I saw my male blow it out.

thats either becuase they are really not all that hungry, or becuase they are just plain ol' messy convicts
