Why Did They Kill The Female?

So i had two fancy males in a 2 foot for a long time, and a friend was getting rid of his tank so offered to take what fish he had and it was a female guppy.
So i thought fine, i will take it and get three more females so the aggresion preads between the males.
I went on a little holiday for 3 days and i thought everything would be fine with just the three of them and when i came back she was dead, with signs of bites and ripped fins.

So why would they do that?

What kinds of Males and Females are we talking about here? Sorry, I'm a little confused. All I get is that you added a female Guppy. So I'm guessing the others were Guppies too?

Anyway, it sounds to me like she died, and then was picked at by the others. They will pick at dead fish, no bother. She may have been sick before. Do you know the water stats?

Sorry i wasn't clear Anna,
I have two fancy male guppys in a 2'x1'x1' which is roughly 15 gallons. I was given a female by a friend giving his tank away and she was perfectly healthy.
I added her to the tank and was going to get 3 more females to spread aggresion but when i came back from a 3 day holiday she was dead.

I checked the stats and it reads as follows
PH:7.2
ammonia:0
NitrIte:0
NitrAte:20(its planted)

She seemed fine fort he 2 days i had her, swimming and eating fine. So i really dont know what happened and only suspect the males did it.

Ah, okay. My guess is she got stressed out by the boys bugging her, trying to mate. It may have just gotten worse and worse over the days, especially if you weren't feeding them, which led to her death. That would be my first thought. Another thought would be the males just didn't welcome a new fish, and competed with her for food. And my last thought would be she died from something else. Either one of those would probably leave her with nipped fins, even if she wasn't bullied when alive. Because, as I said, fish love fins of other fish.
