some of my 2day old fry are turning their belly up but when i scare them they swim away. im scared theyre just like floating on the surface on their backs or side n not moving.
i have an air pump for the tank but i dont think the current is too strong.
but the thing is...in the morning the temperature was 72  so i raised it to 80 now. are they doing that because of coldness? water quality? why are they not rightside up?

and also i dont think they are eating anything cuz they eat it ans spit it out...they dont come and eat anything i give to them.(i give them crushed flakes, boiled egg yolk and pea)

do u no if the mother might of scwashed (sorry dont no how to spell it)her babies because i had a batch of fry and the first 2 that were born died of that.not saying urs will though.dont think its because of the tempreture

it is most likely from the temperature....too cold in the first place, and then increasing to 80 (i hope not in the same day!) probably shocked them even more...they need steady temps and steady water quality

another explanation may be some kind of deformity not allowing them to stay upright (problem w/ fins, swim bladder, etc)

I am not to sure about the swimming bit, but as for the food it may not be crushed up fine enough. Yesterday I got my first fry, so I gave them very fine crushed flake food, and they were doing the same thing, putting it in there mouth and spitting it out. I believe (although I could be wrong) that the food is small enough to fit in there mouth, but not small enough to swallow it so they spot it back out.

Try putting some food in a little sandwich bag crushing it up very fine, almost to like a powder and then try feeding them. Just make sure you scoop or siphon off any extra as you don't want to pollute you tanks water anymore then you have to. Good luck with your new fry, hope they are alright!

Maybe they are showing you there bellies because they are hungry? lol..just kidding

Good luck!

noo now all of them are like that!i dun wanna them to die they are my first batch!
ive put the tank into the main tank like a breeding box...i dun want them to die!
they wont eat anything either ...ive crushed the flakes as hard as i can1pllz gimme more tips!

72°F will not hurt them, granted it's at the lower end of their comfort zone, but I highly doubt temperature is your problem. I've had the temperature drop in my tank to 58°F for a couple of days due to extended power outage and didn't loose a single adult or fry, granted their activity level dropped dramatically until power was restored and temperature returned to the normal 74°F I keep it at. If you are new to this you are probably making many of the mistakes that we all do until we learn better. As a result your fish may be living but are probably not at optimum health which will result in infrequent births and high mortality rates. I suspect a couple of things, if ANY of your fish are relatively new you may have disease in your tank, also if your water quality is poor you may have disease. If water quality is in question change it. Clean water goes a long way towards fighting and preventing fish disease. I am a firm believer that you can't do too many water changes cause after all fish in nature get continuous new clean water. Check your PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate levels. The temperature being at 80°F now will assist in curing many diseases also a small amount of aquarium salt added will also help. Another possibility is that the mother was not quite fully mature and as a result the fry did not develope properly, if this is the case there is little you can do except hope for better luck in the future.
