my cory fry are now just over 4 weeks old now and was wondering at what age its best to put in the larger tank...?

how big are they currently? I would give them a bit longer personally, just make sure that non of the current fish will be able to eat them.

What i do with mine is add a divider and put the fry into a seperate section. The reason being is they they are going to have to compete with the adults for food, and they miss out on food if mixed together. So they stop growing at the rate they are used too.

Does that make sense?

I usually add at about 3/4's of an inch and they are fine, just make sure you have no filter they can be sucked up into.

I added mine at around 8 weeks old in my community tank, they're doing really well, growing fast :good:

Are you putting them in the parent tank? :)

I would think 4 week old is good enough to go into the parent tank. In fact, I am facing the same problem. I have never raised cory in this quantity before. One of my 3-way plastic breeder box has about 45 of 4-5 week old fry. I set up a 5.5 gallon tank yesterday for them to use as a grow out tank (I know 5.5g is really small, but I just gonna experience with it). I will move the fry into it in about a week or so after the tank is cycled. I thought about just release them into the breeding tank, but I am afraid that they may not do well in there due to food competition and space shock. Good luck to you!

Mattlee, Take a look at the above link. If you've got the room, apart from the filter(don't know what type filter it is, think i'll go instore and rip one appart), this tank looks a nice size and low cost. For a grow out tank for your fry.

I myself am very tempted to get one.

That is a ridiculously good deal! Hmmmm now where is that nearest Aldi... Give an update if you do see one in the flesh!

great deal :good: i have now already put my fry in a 2ft tank with 5 green stripes that are waiting to be placed in with the others.... when i get round to it and set up the new tank!!! for some reason i got an ammonia spike in my fry tank and lost a few fry and after almost daily water changes of 80/90% i decided this was the best thing to do for them as i didnt want to lose any more. the only thing is its filtered with a fluval u2 so im worried the smaller ones may get sucked in if they get too close.... the bigger ones are fine and are loving the bogwood and moss balls :good:
cheers for the link though im sure they will sell like hot cakes :good:
