Who's munching out?

Hi! I am working on creating a heavily planted tank. My 29 gallon has java fern and a huge moss ball...probably 5"diameter. I added water sprite last weekend, and it's almost all gone. Do you think it's the mystery snail? One by one the stalks are being stripped until there is nothing left but a stalk of wilted fibers.

I used to have a school of penduin tetras that used to love water sprite. Didn't touch any of the other plants in the tank though, dunno why just that particular one. I was cutting back feeding to combat algae at that time, so water sprite must have tasted the best I guess?

I have one pearl gourami, one male swordtail, two female platys, three brilliant rasboras, two corys, two kuhli loaches, one ottocinclus, and one mystery snail.

Today the snail on on the java fern. I never saw him on the water sprite, but it's all gone now except for one piece that's floating on top of the water...
