Whoops - Heater

Well I did my weekly water change on both tank yesterday as usual. Just fed my fish in the community tank and thought "gosh, this waters a tad cold!" ... looked at the temprature and it was at 16c

I'd only gone and forgot to plug my heater back in after the water change!

Fish seem fine, just fed fine and pluged the heater back in... I won't be forgetting that again!

To solve this problem i have the tank lights hooked up to the same adapter as the filter and heater, so when i turn off the switch to do a water change, ill know ive not turned it back on as the lights will be off!

Good idea, tho I have my lights on a timer so I never turn them on or off... makes it much easyer.

But I guess, if I throw the heater and filter plug on the same adapter... like you said, I'd know for sure that it's pluged back in

i think you can get high/low temp alarms for tanks , would alert you before it got that cold if you did it again, ive done it myself a couple of times

Good job you realised and fish are ok

I have a surge protector on mine and before now i have knock the reset button turning off the filters & heater,or if the electric pops it needs to be reset before it goes back on
