It's not the large tank, its the having the biggest thing you can get and putting it in a room where it obviously looks out of place because of the space.
Big tanks are great, Id love to have a massive one that fitted into the room and didn't look out of place. However, you have to admit, sometimes you walk into a tiny house and they have a huge telly and a huge tank and they have no style in the slightest, they just look dreadful! I have a small room so I bought a small tank and it happens to be on the wall as that saves me more space.
I ideally want a 500 litre tank but it would look shocking in a room only 6 or 7 metres long. My point was, when you dont have the space I personally think that a wall tank has a lot of style and allows you to have something to look at without losing any style in the room and without losing the valuable space.
To take a look at someone's aquarium and laugh saying it deserves to be in a bin is just rude!
I think far too often people care so much about getting something bigger that they fail to see the rest of the room! Big tanks are great if you have the luxury of the space, for me personally though I don't have the room to have one without it being shoved into a corner and looking ghastly. That doesnt mean I deserve to have people having a go at my choice, especially when I am having some problems and ask for help!
I just think big tanks in small rooms looks a bit crap:
While having larger rooms looks a lot nicer:
As I say, I have a small room, so I am not about to
bin my small tank and get a huge one to be shoved into the corner. I will wait until I move but I don't expect to be abused for having a smaller tank!
