Over the last week or so I added 6 female guppies with the intention of adding some more when stocking levels permit for breeding purposes. Over the next 48 hours, three of them had their tails bitten off and unfortunately died :rip: Everything seemed ok after that little blip up until today !!! When I turned the lights on this morning one of my male guppies only had a strand of tail left and has since passed away.

Can anyone advise me by looking at my tank inhabitants which fish(es) it might be. I have a sneaky feeling that it could be one of my Three Spot Gourami as I noticed him the other day sneaking up on my guppies looking like he wanted to eat them !! I know that Black Widow Tetras can be a bit nippy but I have never had a problem with them before.

Many Thanks in Advance :good:

It's the three spots. Am 98% sure of it. Assuming they haven't come to you with serious finrot that is!
My 3 spots have killed off fish guppy size without hesitation, and never when I'm watching! Even killed all but one of my otos way back. They are very naughty characters.

Thanks Miss Dib Dabs. I thought so.
The male guppies have been in since last november and the new females all looked like the healthiest most colourful females I have ever seen so no sign of finrot.
