I have 3 Pengasius cats, 1 Clown Knife fish, 30 Tiger Barbs, 1 Angel(which gets along comfortably), 1 Pleco, 10 Corydoras, a female and male Dwarf Gourami, and I HAD 2 platies, now only one female.
Just this morning, I had woken up to a dead platy...the male! I feel so sorry for the female all on her own with the murderer
While writing this, I have counted 14 normal tiger barbs, 7 green and 9 albino tiger barbs. Could these be the culprates? Maybe the angelfish? Or the Knife fish? or maybe the Pengasius? Dwarf Gourami's? Or even the female Platy herself??

PLEASE! I need help on what to do next!! :(

how big is the tank??
could well have been the tiger barbs. you have a lot of aggressive fish in there.

well ive heard angel fish can be really ruthless and can kill, but also tiger barbs, and u do have quite a few!! maybe someone with a bit more experience has any ideas?????? :/

With that mix in the tank it is really immaterial who killed a platy - they and the tiger barbs will soon be snacks for the clown knife, followed by the gouramis, angel and maybe the cories.
You need a seperate tank ASAP - about 8x3x4 feet should suffice.

the tank is 250 gallons

the seperate tank for the knife fish yeah? Alright thanks. How big will this fish grow in aquaria do you know? Like the maximum size?

Thanks. The knife fish usually hides behind a small pile of about 6-7 rocks. It itself is only around 5-6 inches at the moment and will definatly take the advice of moving it to a bigger tank but doubt I'll be able to right now. I read the fish grows to 1 metre!! But rarely gets to maturaty in aquaria? is that right? Right now the fish isn't into eating the tiger barbs but am quite scared it will start.
I feed it frozen foods like all my fish because I heard somewhere that a carnivorous fish that eats live foods will only eat live things so I'm not too keen on them.
It usually swims pretty slow but moves really fast when it gets scared. I believe right now the angel is dominant and don't really want to see the Knife fish take it's place :( because I know now it would be a big mess!

Clown knives can take on fish of about a third their size.
I regularly see 2'+ specimens at my LFS and have seen 3' ones.
The pangasius too will need a huge tank so these could all move in together. About double your current tank's size might suffice and even then they won't get to full wild sizes.

Ok, :) thanks. So how long do you think it will be before it grows big enough to eat the fish in my tank? Do you know what I should do about the lonely platy?
