Think my cardinal tetras have got it, done the routine for getting rid of it.

One question though, what should my water readings be like if I do have a case of whitespot?

Grateful for any advice

Generally the ammonia and nitrite should be 0ppm and the nitrate as low as you can get it through water changes. The preferred pH range for tetras is between 6.0-7.0.

No, disease can't alter your water parameters, although some treatments can affect your biological filtration, which could cause a small spike in ammonia or nitrite.
