Fish Fanatic
Hi,
I did a 25% water change yesterday afternoon and last night noticed that several of my Platies had white sugar grain sized spots on them. I assume this is whitespot
I've got some Interpret No.6 treatment but didn't want to put it in until I'd checked if this was lethal to my ghost shrimp?
I have got a second small tank I could put the shrimp in, but don't want the inhabitants of that tank to get it as well. (4 x Threadfin rainbow & 1 x CAE).
Tank size: 155ltr
pH: 8
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 0
kH:8
gH: 15
tank temp: was 28-29 yesterday because of the ambient room temp.
Volume and Frequency of water changes: 25% fortnightly
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Sera Aquatan with water change & weekly dose of API leaf zone
Tank inhabitants:
4 x Blue Speckled Platy
3 x Blue Wagtail Platy
1 x Panda Corydora
2 x Corydora Aeneus
5 x Neon Tetra
3 x Bosemani Rainbow
1 x Clown Plec
1 x Albino Bristlenose Plec
5 x Ghost Shrimp
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):
I added the following on the 3rd June.
1 x Albino Bristlenose Plec
5 x Ghost Shrimp
I also put in a load of plants at the end of March and a Nutrafin CO2 injector a few days later.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Edit: I've been reading this post (Treating Ich/Whitespot) and it mentions that Waterlife protozin is invert safe. Would I be better using this over the Interpret meds?
Cheers.
