Hi, could anyone help, I have had my first tropical tank for a couple of months now, and noticed that 1 of my female Endlars has some white stuff on its tail and the tial looks abit frayed, not quite sure what this is, alread lost an female Endlar, and a Lyretale, not sure if they died of the same thing, my Endlar that has it now tho had given birth 4-5 days ago, which was in a breeding tank, and was ok in there, now that it's back in the community tank i've noticed the white stuff, Can anyone give any information to treat this and get rid of it completly? Thanks.

As you are saying that you have already lost one Endlar, so i think it can be an Ich, similar to salt grains. Better to get something from the pet shop for the treatment. Probably, they have something with themselves for this!

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrate, and ph.

The white stuff does it look like cotton wool or strands of cotton coming off the fins.

Hi again, thanks for your replies, yes wilder it looks a bit like cotton wool on the tail, got some white spot treatment stuff 2day, so i'll see how this goes first, thanks...
