Hi Im new to this forum so sorry if i havnet done this right but i really need some desperate help to save my fish!
I have a vision 180 that has the following fish in it: Two clown loaches (approx 10cm) two islver sharks, two black sharks, Dalamation catfish, various mollies, two angels, two angels, 5 tetras and my beloved pleco.

The two clown loaches are covered in whitespot. It started on saturday just gone, i cleaned the tank and bought some WS3 and was advised by my local fish shop to add half the directed amount daily (as i was advised the loaches can be killed by it on full dose?)

i have treated them daily since (adding 1 drop each day but i added 4 drops today as ive realised ive made a massive mistake on the dosage) the disease has spread to my two silver sharks (one has already died) my 2 black sharks (bith in a bad way) the five tetras have all died today from it and one angel fish, yesterday i lost two mollies. The fish are worst now than ever. Can anyone recommend another way to treat them? i Read on the net that you can give them salk baths? is this advisable? does anyone recommend that i give the fish individual salt baths?

ANY HELP WOULD BE APRRECIATED URGENTLY AS IM TERRIFIED OF LOSING MY POOR FISH'S.

Thank you

Danielle

Hi, clown loaches get white spot when they are stressed...have you changed anything or put anything into the tank that you normally wouldn't? Are you using a specific White Spot treatment? Check your temperature also...you can turn it up slightly and this will help but you must make sure it doesn't go above 28C. You need to keep using the white spot treatment.

"white spot often occurs in fish that are already weakened or are subject to chilling"...got this from my fishy bible!

If you contact wilder by pm, she is fantastic at sorting stuff with great advice..sorry im just an amatur but she has helped me loads.

We added 4 new fish 2 weeks ago, these were mollies. The temparature is currently at 27 but i shall turn it up a notch. The treatment we are using is WS3 Whitespot formula recommended by the local fish shop. We did buy a new plant for the tank, its a big piece of wood with live plants growing on it, do you think this could be the problem?

Have you turned temp up to 30, increased aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Have you removed black carbon out of the filter.
Need your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Hi

we have increased the temperature to 28, should we increase it to 30? I thought this might be too high? i have taken the lid flaps off so there is no lid on to increase the air in the tank, do i need to do anymore?
We havent taken the black filter out yet should we do this now?

I have just done a quick test in the water: NO3 = 100 NO2 =100 GH=>16(10)D KH=3(10)D pH =8.4
Is this okay?

Your stats are high an immediate water change.
You must increase aeration in the tank they won't be able to breath very well, as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the tank.
Yes remove black carbon it will remove the med as that what it meant to do.
Don't turn temp up any fuirther for now till you get some aeration going in the tank with a airpump and airstone.
How long has the tank been set up.

Hi
the tank has been set up for 2 years, we did a water change on saturday should we do another one? There is an air pump and an aircurtain running along the back of the tank. My partner is taking the black filter out as we speak, would you recommend continuing to use WS3 or use salt?

Continue the whitespot med.
Your tank some of them fish grow large and need a larger tank.
Your stats are bad I would invest in another filter to help with the load till you can upgrade.

Hi

would you recommend we change the water again tonight? do we need to replace all the filters? we are buying a bigger tank in the new year so will convert the fish to this when its set up,

Thats good then you are getting a new tank.
Don't touch the filter sponges.
If you preform a water change you will have to add the correct amount of med back to the water removed.

Thank you for all your help x

Good luck.
Maybe a good gravel vac is needed remove ornaments, debris can soon build up under them.
