Hi

I recently nuked my tank with super-chlorinated water. Then I rinsed it and put some sand in and now it has cycled ready for more fish. I have had a massive snail population explosion though - not sure what to do about that - and also these little wormy things are breeding on the side of thr glass. They are tiny and wriggly and flat and white, and I saw one swim into the water of the tank by wriggling itself.

what are these? Are they bad? What can I do to get rid of them if they are?

They're called planarians and they're harmless.
They're usually a sign of an overfed tank as they thrive on uneaten food particles in the water.

Here's a picture of some of the species of planarian that are commonly found in aquariums.
Don't worry, they're magnified, none of them get this big!

I'm always on the lookout for something "odd" in a freshwater tank (why should the saltwater crowd have all the fun?)....if they're harmless leave them in they would be kewl! :hey:
