White Worm

whilst cleaning the tank i noticed some very small "white worms" between 3-4mm long and as thick as a fine hair. any ideas as towhat they are? are they harmfull? Help! :-(
 
Actually I still have a case of these, there called Planaria Worms they come from overfeeding and or high ammonia, here is a page on them. hope this helps! :good:

Thanks interesting article! well ammonia is very low possible over feading, will keep an eye on things and see what happens?!
 
ha. how weird. i had off the scale ammonia in a couple of cycling tanks when these little buggers appeared. they in my betta tank but declining in numbers and he likes to eat them. and in the other tank my rtbs and tiger barbs love them too (but they eat anything, including having a good try at each other!)

article says bettas eat them and i have my betta and otto on the case! good article
