I dont get it, my water always turns white. I do lots of changes to get it back, its ok for days, then white again.
Most people say its a bacteria bloom due to over feeding.
But i've cut their feeding down by half and only once a day to prove the point, but I got home today to a very white tank.
I''ve done a large water change and will have to keep doing it till it clears.

My problems just go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.................................................... :dunno:

I get a white sort of filmy stuff on the surface on my water in one of my betta tanks, but it clears when I do water changes. Does the water smell funny or anything like that?

Just the smeel its always had. A watery one.
Its been going since nov 04
Its almost as if the white (murky) water is on a routine cycle!!!
Water changes clear it, but it just comes back!!!

Gravel
Its a Juwel 125ltr with Juwel filter built in. Juwel lighting as well.

:D hello rodders i have a few jewel tanks the 400/240/450 and 350
i have found out in the 4 years i have had them that the jewel in built filter is not powerfull enough for the tanks i have added an external filter to all my tanks
i have used fluval 204 up to 404 on the larger tanks and now the tanks are far more substainable with the added filtration :D

i would suggest if you can afford one to buy a fluval 104 or other cannister external filter to help you with the husbandry belive me you will see the diffrence within a hour or installing the external i think you can buy a fluval 104 from pets at home for about £35-£40 as my 404 cost me £99 from their 3 years ago

I thought the filter sucked, but it started to get nice and clear, so i kinda stuck with it.
I will look into a better one.
That also means i can rip it outta the tank and make myself some more room!!!!

Do you rip out the internal one so you got more space???

I just ripped out my Juwel filter and put a Fluval 204 external filter on.
I got the 204 cause the 104 was for 100ltr and my tanks 125ltr and it was only £5 more!
