White Thing On My Rubbernose Pleco

Ok, i've bought a new heater, and put him in a bucket with an air pump in for surface adgitation (air in the water).
I've added 2 pleco wafers for him too.
I've added the medication and i'll see how he goes, but i need to ask about the water situation. Hes in a 10l bucket and i want to know when i'd need to change the water again with him in, it isnt filtered so i dont want ammonia building up. Maybe 2 - 3 days?
Thanks.

You will just have to test the water i'm afraid, it different with every fish, and plecs produce alot of waste, if you preform a water change you will have to add the correct amount of med back to the water again, good luck.

Hes only around 1 - 1 1/2" long.
How will i know when to change, when ammonia and nitrite/nitrate (not sure which is the poisinous one, gona find out) get above 0.
Thanks for your help, and the luck.

You will need to by liquid test kits if you havent already got them, ammonia should be 0 plus nitrite should be 0, neither of them are good in a tank, as long as you keep an eye on them you don't really need to test for nitrate, good luck.
