Hi all, a couple of my threadfins are exhibiting the above symptoms and my Pygmy cories are flicking too. There is no sign of Ich, their gills look normal but one of the threadfins spends a lot of time at the surface so I'm thinking flukes... Is it possible to treat for internal and external parasites at the same time (is there one med that does this?) without affecting the shrimp in the tank? I don't have a spare cycled filter for a qt tank (I know, very lax!) and it would be almost impossible to catch just the affected fish anyway.
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Jo

I've been to my lfs and ordered Waterlife Paragon which is supposed to treat worms and flukes without hurting crustaceans and my adf hopefully. Has anyone used this before as I've not had to treat for this before? It should be in by Wednesday which will be ok I hope. The flicking has ben going on for several weeks, first 1 pygmy cory then a pencilfish just occasionally but I left it as I couldn't see any other symptoms (not easy on tiny fish!) but the white poo is new and an obvious symptom though I'm not sure if it's anything to do with the occasional flicking....

BTW, water stats:

Ammonia 0
NitrIte 0
Nitrate 40 (planted tank with fertiliser)
pH 6.5 (tap is 7.5 but brought down by pressurised CO2)
Additions: 9 Celebes Rainbows from EliseW, not likely to be the cause! The occasional flicking started before they were added.
Inhabitants; see sig, it's the 120l plus the 9 celebes.
Chemical additions: EI dosing ferts (unlikely to be an issue), pressurised CO2,
I do feed frozen bloodworm for my ADF but recently changed to Reptomin so there will be less bloodworm going in.

when i was figthting white stringy poo in 3 of my discus , octozin by waterlife sorted it for me .

I've just got enough Octozin for the full 3 day treatment but I don't think it covers flukes. It says it's harmless to invertebrates so I've started the course which should finish Monday. I'll do a 50% water change on Tuesday and start the Paragon on Wednesday. At least it should definitely kill all the worms! Does that sound ok or should I be doing it differently?
