hi guys i have just noticed that some of my fish has white spots on their tail and fins not on body, molly, sialfin mollys and the platys no other fish has it tetras, swordtail, plecos, silver shark, coredas catfish, should i go out and get a treatment for them many thanks smoggy

If the spots look like grains of salt yes and act fast as whitespot can soon kill a fish.
Turn temp up now to 30 and increase aeration in the tank as the med and high temp will reduce 02 in the tank.
How many gallons is the tank far few fish there.

im not sure they look like little white dots on the tail and fins not on body, on some of the fish but not on others so not sure what they are or what to do next, its a 4 ft tank with about 30 fish thanks smoggy

Thats alot of fish its well overstocked. bala sharks need to be kept in groups as there a shoaling fish and need large tanks of 90gals.
Can you post stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.
If the spots are small like salt or sugar grain its whitespot.

Look under whitespot and some pictures there too.

New fish can fetch it into the tank.
I would think of rehoming that silver shark he won't be happy on his own.
Good luck.

i got 2 sharks so why didnt the shop ask me what size my tank was in the first place? thanks for that smoggy

Because half the lfs don't care.
As they get big you will need to upgrade.
