Fish Fanatic
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me first apologise for asking a question that many people have probably asked many times before. I have a fish (Gosh no!) - a Blank Molly to be precise - that has white spots. Right, how do I tell if it's White Spot, Fungus or Velvet?
I've read the excellent guide by Kossy posted here, but me being dim, still cannot tell.
The white started in/around the mouth and lips, but have now spread to body (small white spots, fairly flat) and fins (larger spots, "fluffy" in appearance). I am presuming that this could be Velvet or Fungus rather than ich.. am I correct? Her fins now seem to be clamped, with most of her time spent at the surface.
Problem is, with no hospital tank, the problem now seems to have spread to a male and female Guppy.
I've treated today with an anti-White Spot "medicine" based on Malachite Green. Should I now wait, or get another Med for Fungus?
Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0.5 ish, Nitrate between 5 and 10. pH 7. No tests for water hardness etc..
Thanks in advance for any help......
