Both of my rainbows have developed little white dots on their eyes. it kind of looks like ick but is only on the eye. It happened shortly after I added a ton of new mopani wood that has now turned my water black (don't know if that's significant). Any ideas on the ailment and treatment?

P.S.

can't use copper sulphate because I have inverts and live plants.

Adding the bogwood may have had some effect on the fish, I would take it out myself.
Is your tank cycled yet?
If so how long?

It was actually really high quality Mopani wood that was all natural and untampered with by the treatment and leeching processes most companies use. The 55 gallon tank is already cycled and has been up for a year. I've never had any instance of illness yet with this tank and I'm not familiar with this symptom on a fishes eye. I've been keeping fish for about 16 years and I've cared for about 150 different freshwater species and I've never seen anything that looks like ich but is only on the eye of one single species.

Also, sorry I cannot provide more pics because the tannins in my tank are making it impossible for the camera to pick up any descent detail on the fish.

Is it possible they could have bumped into something?
Are their eyes cloudy at all? or are they bright and clear besides the spots?
