Hi

I noticed today that some of my fish (3 honey gourami) have tiny (really tiny) white spots on their fins/tails. Looks sort of like tiny white dust, like icing sugar.
Having googled for it, I'm assuming it's ich though the white dots look smaller than salt (as it's described a lot) and i've seen no evidence of fish acting odd or scatching themselves against things.
There's also a tiny dot or two on some other fish fins (neon tetra) but nothing on the bodies of any fish or anywhere on my bolivian rams or dwarf gouramis.

My current plan is to reduce the light in the tank, feed much less, increase the temperature to 28oC, add aquarium salt and add an ich treatment for a couple of weeks.
That's my plan anyway.

This is the first time my fish have shown any sign of illness (had an aquarium for a year or so) so as you can imagine, I'm absolutely terrified! I could live with losing the honey gourami, but would be heartbroken if it spread and killed my other fish.
Should I remove the honey gourami (I dont have another tank so that would probably mean euthenasia)?

If you think i'm treating it right, or wrong or if you have any advice (assuming you know what you're talking about) then that would be hugely appreciated.
Please!
PLEEEEEEASE!!!!

Thankyou.

If the spots are the size of a grain of salt it sounds like whitespot.
A dusting of talc can also be velvet.

Don't add salt neons don't tolerate it to well.
Also check med instructiions as sometimes you have to half dose with scaless fish and neon tetra's,

Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Raise temp to 30.
Remove black carbon from filter if you use it.
