I noticed tiny white spots clinging to the glass, rocks, and fake plants. They are tiny and appear to be a bit fuzzy on the plants. I also noticed that the snail has what looks like a spider web clinging to him. This "spider web" looking stuff is also on one of the ornaments in the tank.

What is this stuff, and should I be doing a water change. Changed water yesterday, and just tested the water today. Nitrate is 5, Nitrite & ammonia are 0 and Ph is 6.

I do still have one guppy alive in tank, other has died and had white cottony stuff on some of his fins. The one who is alive, appears to have cotton like growths on the edges of his fins. Very little right now. I am going out today, do I need to get medication for tank, or does it need to be emptied and sanitized?

is your tank newly cycled? fungus doesn't cling onto the surfaces, at least no enough for you to see it - this is probaby harmless bio film but can indicate a immature tank.

Conterary to popular belief fungus is usually caused by bacterial problems, i always treat with interpet internal bacteria. However, i am not a expert, i would post this on EMERGENCIES, Wilder is the man to help you, best of luck

The remaining guppy is now staying at the top of the tank. He does occasionally swim to the bottom or flick around. I also noticed something on his nose. Looks like when your skin peels after a sunburn. The ends of his fins are also fuzzy and white. The last couple of days he has spent lots of time in amoung the fake plants in the tank. Yesterday I noticed 2 white dots on his tail fin, and looked like ick. Wasn't sure what to do as the other guppy looked like it had fin rot and was treating tank with primafix. Was concerned that the white spots were something bad, and infecting the fish.

The tank is newly cycled.

Sounds suspiciously like columnaris to me, as per the link Wilder posted.

Your in the states, so macaryn one and macaryn two are the meds to use :good:

Peeling skin can be columnaris it's one of the symtoms.
The whitespot on the fish are the size of a grain of salt.
Any redness to the spots as you can get columnaris spots they will be a greyish white with a circling of red around the
edges of the spot, or a red centre.
Also fish can flick and rub with columnaris.

I checked out the site. That sounds exactly like what is going on. Red spots around the white spots are not visable. He is a dark blue guppy. There is a large discolouration on his head. He keeps hiding for me to get a good look at it. Going out to pick up the meds.

Thanks
