Two of his clown loaches have got what seems to be white spot he is going to the shop tommorrow to get some treatmnet for it - is it easy to treat or is it more often or not the fish is a gonner?

Thanking you all

From what I understand, fish can definitely survive White Spot, although as Clown Loaches are particularly suseptable, they are less likely to pull through.

Either way he needs to treat the tank as it stays in the tank even if the host fish die.

This looks like a pretty good article on it:

White Spot Treatment

And have a read through this sticky thread:

ICH

They can survive but you have to act fast, turn temp up to 30, add med make sure that you read instruction well, as with some meds you have to half dose wtih clown loaches, cover tank in a blanket, good luck, and also increase aeration in the tank as the med and high temp will decrease 02 in the tank.
