Hi there been using this site for a while, but only once asked for help. Well here I am again and I am stumped :/

I have a female guppie who is covered in a white fungus. I treated her 3 weeks ago with Protozin and then last week treated her with Myxazin as I bought a loach so had to stop using Protozin. The white stuff is still not away and she still looks a bit rough around the edges :dunno:

Could this be something else or should I continue another dose of Myxazin. No other fish have this condition. And she seems okay still swimming and eating.

Please help she was my first fish ever bought and I am not quite ready to lose her, any help is appreciated. :D

Do a salt bath on the fish, are there white patches of the side of her body.

How exactly do a salt bath on a fish?
Do you just add salt to the water?
What if you have catfish or cory cats that you can't use salt with?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Protozin is safe with clown loach, the packaging advises half dosing. I once spoke to a sales rep from Waterlife asking him to clarify a rumour I had heard. He told me that it was safe to fully dose with scaleless fish, so long as you had hard alkaline water. My scaleless fish suffered no adverse effects fully dosing with this product, but I was unhappy with the length of time it took this product to work. I switched to a product called Esha Exit which cleared up the Ich in no time.

You can also safely use another Esha product called Esha 2000 at the same time as Esha Exit, these meds combined will treat whitespot, velvet, fungus, dropsy, bacterial infections, fin rot, open wounds and contain a general tonic. The Esha products are 100% safe for use with sensitive fish, will not harm plants and will not kill beneficial bacteria.

Thanks for all your help. Fish is still with me but still looks a little under the weather. Not sure how to do the salt bath :/ so if any one can help this would be helpful :D (is it treated salt, dosage etc?) It is true this Myzasin seems to take a while to work can i use this with the salt or is that just too much?
Thanks again :fish:
