has anyone ever saved a fish from white spot. iv had 2 major aquariums and no matter how long the fish are in the tank eventually they always die of white spot. iv tried every antidote out there and they never work. any ideas ?

i would like to add that i am not a newbie and none of this is due to new tank syndrome etc. i also do a regular water quality checks and they always come out good.

as you are in the UK lookout for Protozin by waterlife products
or FMG by NT labs.
I prefer FMG as it is stronger than protozin.
If you do get FMG then the dose is 1ml per ft (IE 3ft tank=3ml) and treat
daily for five days. on day six you can perform a 30% water change
If you go with protozin just follow the instructions that come with it.

As with many treatments raising the temp in the tank to around 84f/29c during treatment will help as this speeds up the metabalisums of both the fish and the parasite.
Also don't forget to remove any carbon or zeolite from filters and turn off any UV filters too.

I use FMG all the time at work for spot and it rarely fails to cure it.
