Hi!

Some of our tropical fish have contracted white spot over the last few weeks and I am using King British WS3 - White Spot Terminator to treat. After 5 doses every 2 days I did a 10% water change but the white spot is getting worse if anything.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this product actually any good? Do I need to remove the charcoal from my filter, some people say told me that by not doing so reduces the effectiveness of the treatment?

Any hints / tips are very welcome.

Ed

Yes you need to remove any carbon from the filter or it will just absorb the treatment. Also, turn your temperature up a few degrees as whitespot treatments usually only start to work once the trophonts enter the free swimming stage. Turning the temp up speeds up this process. The king british treatment is supposed to be very good. I also recommend the one by eSHA. If you have any loaches you should halve the recommended dosage.

Your traetment wont be working because the carbon is removing it from the water. Take the carbon out until the treatment is finished. :good:

Do a 50% water change.
Remove your carbon and slowly increase the temp to 30C.
Like everyone said, your treatment won't work if you keep your carbon/charcoal in the filter.

Continue to treat for 2 days after all the white spots are gone. :|

Brilliant! Thanks for the advise. Water changed, carbon removed and white spots almost gone!! :hyper:

Cheers!!
