Hi,

Could anyone help me has my neons and guppies have started to get white spots?

What is the best type off treatment for this??? Do i need aqaurium salt added and higher the temps slowly??

I have neons and guppies in there. Id like to know also witch you would recommend the safest med to use if i have to use a med.

Thanks,
Paul

Do not add salt. King british ws3 i find is the best for whitespot, make sure you dont have an underlying problem that is making your fish susceptible to whitespot. I find any hint of ammonia and neon tetras tend to get whitespot quickly. Check your stats.

Ok would you recommend some water changes ???? 50%???

Then treat for white spot tomorrow and raise the temps aswell has waterchange????

And yes ill take a look at the king british stuff :good:

Well it will help for sure especially if you have an ammonia/nitrite problem. Raising the temperature is good once you have treated the tank with med,it speeds the cycle up of organism.

Ok so i should do a water change then treat then once its starting to go or completly gone i should raise the temps by 1 - 2 a day ???

Also this has only started since i put a DIY co2 ( yeast ), ive only noticed since i put this in place on the tank???

Could the yeast be the problem has its only started to show since then?

Thanks,
Paul

Do a water change, then treat, raise the temp, treat again in 2 days time, treat again in a further 2 days time and then another water change and check for whitespot, but ive used this method and this clears it for me. I cant answer about the co2 as i've never used it.

Ok thanks anyways, its not happend since i installed the yeast co2. then i noticed the guppies with little white spots.

I will try get out to get some med and treat tomorrow. Ill go do a water change now.

and hope someone can direct me weather to leave the co2 yeast based on. or take down has i think this may have caused it cause was all fine since i installed that.

thanks,
paul

Ok a little update, i went to my local maiden head aqautics and they only had one treatment witch i had to use and said safe with all sensitive fish

the make is : eSHa EXIT. Ive treated has stated on box and all seems to be going well, all spots seem to have gone.

Once treated do i need to do a water change????. Also theres one guppie witch has no spots no more but seems to be resting at the bottom alot???

hope someone can help me. thanks
