Hi,

I just noticed that 3 of my guppies, 2 neon tetra and 2 glow light tetra have on average 3 to 5 white little spots of their tails. I have checked the others and they seem to be fine at the moment.

The Tank has the following:

6 Neon Tetra
6 Glowlight Tetra
5 Guppies
4 Pepered Cory
1 Bolivian Ram

Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate= 0 to trace

I have raised the temp to 27 degrees over the last 2 hours.

I can't go to the pet shop until first thing as no where will sell fish treatment at this time in the UK. Can anyone tell me a list of good medicines? (I have a pets at home close, so if anyone knows good medicine they stock that would be great)

Also I have never treated anything for fish before so if there is any important info (i've read through threads and I know to remove carbon etc) can you please let me know? Is there anything natural I could do tonight to help the process?

The fish don't seemed to be stressed (no rubbing but have had the odd erratic movement) and all seemed to be eating fine and swimming fine.

Again any help is appreciated as I've never delt with this before and wasn't too sure how serious a problem it is!

Thanks

I actually don't have a carbon filter at the moment as the last one was done and not got around to getting more. The ich came from no where as I checked them all last night but I am guessing its from the 2 guppies that were added yesterday but they didn't show any signs of anything yesterday. I will try and get a photo but they are too quick for my camera ( any advice on taking pics?lol)! I am more concerned for the 4 peppered cory and the bolivian ram as they are my best fish and so far they are fine so i'm hoping that I can sort this before they all get it bad!

Thanks again for the help!

You can see a couple of white spots on the end of the tail but i will try and get a better and clear pic

Well i got some King British WS3 for it. I went to my other local fish shop and he recommended it as the best he's used for new stock that has signs of it. He also said that putting a cover over the tank sometime helps as it something to do with one of the chemicals as it light sensitive but he said he never bothered and its always worked fine!

Can anyone confirm that its best to keep light to a minimum?

Thanks

Update:

Well i've increased the temp now to 30 degrees and I had put in 1 dropper and a bit (1 ml to 90 litres) as I have 125 Litres and had no way to accurately measure it. I thought the water would have changed a blue/green colour but it done little to no change in colour really and i've also got a cover over the tank to keep it dark.

I've to do it every 48 hours but we are away 2moro night and not back until Tuesday morning....... so should I do it before I leave 2moro night (about 36-38 hours) or leave it until I come back Tuesday morning? (72 hours)

I have a dual air pump running and I actually have 2 filters in the tank (changed over tanks 3 weeks ago) and they are breaking the surface as well. Is there anything more I should do to help the fish with the high temperature or is that it? I'm just worried that my 4 Peppered Cory and Bolivian Ram will suffer and they are my main fish ( no Ich on them so far) as the others are all replaceable ( i know that sounds harsh but i picked those guys to brighten the tank up with colour, so we are not that attached to them)

I should also point out I so have a 60 L tank (no where to set it up except the floor really and its chipped at the top front rim but should hold water no probs) am I best setting that up? I really don't want to as I don't have the room and I've only got a heater for it (other half won't let me remove the small filter from the main tank as she wants both filters running in the big tank incase of a failure :look: ) I've never thought about a quarantine but I would imagine I need a filter in there ( i know absolutly nothing about a quarantine tank)?

Again any help is much appreciated and many thanks to anyone who offers their opinion.

Thanks
