With Dojo's being cold water fish is it safe to turn the heat up to help get rid of white spot? Also is it safe to use aquarium salt? Will Jungle Parasite Clear work to treat it?

It is a 50 gallon tank with white clouds, danios, corys, and two gold dojos...my moms tank. Water stats are ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 20. It has been running for over a year. The fish are flicking and have a few white dots on the bodies and tails. She has a sanitizer, and various meds if needed. Thanks

Raise the temp gradually. It should be fine as long as there plenty of aeration in the tank.

I would check in the right part of the forum if you can use salt with the fish you keep. As i'm unsure about dojo's.

Don't forget to remove black carbon from filter if you use it.
Make sure you can use the full dose of med with the fish you keep.
Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.

Good Luck.

It sounds like whitespot to me if the spots are the size of a grain of salt.

It is definitely white spot..have battled it before with both of our goldfish ponds and fry tanks. Will jungle parasite clear work? It does not say if it treats white spot on the box. The active ingredients are praziquantel, diflubenzuron, metronidazole, and acriflavine. I usually treat with malachite green, however, it is my understanding that this cannot be used with scaleless fish. Am I correct? Thank you so much for your advice and help.

The meds treats external and internal parasites.

I think I would just have dose first to see how the fish handle it.
