Hi,
I am kinda new to this, just really hoping someone can help me.
Yesturday my Female Guppy had her Babies. I have them in a breeding box. This morning when i checked on the babies i noticed loads of little white specs all over the places. Whatever they are they are alive cos they move on the glass. they are as i mentioned on the sides of the tank and floating in the water. I am relly concerned tho because the main place that they seem to be is on the breedig box. I relly don't want my babies to die after everything i did to try and save them. If anyone could help i would be ever so greatful. thankyou
Can't take a pic because they are just way to small.

Thanks Claire
xx

Two things I could think of...

microbubles.. they will stick anything and can be moved around by any current in your tank

there are very small, white invertibrates (snails I think) in marine aquaria, but I don't know if their is a comparrable freshwater version of these quys.

looks closely at them,
if they are long and thin.. (in respect to you saying small here) :)

and move like worms across the glass and anything else, they are most likely planaria due to overfeeding.
if thats the case I'd stop feeding all the fish except the fry....
and have a nice gravel vac the fish should start to eat them in a few days and their population will plumet..

Good luck mate

they do not look like worms they seem to dart and change direction very quickly,by small i mean smaller then a grain of sand and they are more like dots. thats the best description i can give really, i have to look really hard to see them.

Just a little update, the little white specs are disappearing and all my fish seem to be ok and the babies are doin really well :good: thankyou

Nice one> I suspect they were just air bubbles which sometimes appear when new water is added. + a magnet cleaner would get them off OR water flow.

Any pics of fry?

Thankyou for your help, starting to think i was seeing things, absolutly no sign of anything now lol well other than fry that keep appearing from no where, anyway thankyou again :good:
