White Residue.

Hi,

A layer of white putty like residue acumulates on the submerged rubber hose connections of my external filter.

It is easily scrapped off and smells extremely "fishy".

I'm curious as to what it is.

Any ideas?

I used to get that, I thought it was some sort of lime scale type stuff??
