My gold twinned barred platy is pooping white. I have a 29 gallon fish tank and I have checked everything and it was perfect. In my tank I have 10 jumbo neon tetras, 5 ghost shrimp, 4 snails, 1 black molly, 1 red wag platy, and 5 albino cory catfish. I did research and found out that it's a bacterial infection and I was wondering if it could die from it? I am also planning on getting some medications at petsmart soon.

It could be a bacterial infection or parasite or a number of other things. Depending on just what it is, yes it could be fatal. It would be best to quarantine the fish so it's not spread to all of them, and because the medication may hurt other fish, such as the corydoras.

Do a very large water change to start with. That can't hurt and may help a bit. Then get the medication.

We generally ask for your statistics, such as ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels, pH, size of tank, how it was cycled, how long it's been set up, etc.
