As some of you know from the nls thread I've been having trouble feeding my apisto.

Today, in fact, once during the week and just now (say 20 mins ago) I watched him let loose a white stringy poop. I have never had a fish do that and as a result it never occurred to me that he could be suffering from internal parasites. I have idea how to treat it. I have a 20L with cycled internal filter on standby but I am pretty clueless on where i go from here. Help?

My ammonia and nitrite are at 0ppm Nitrates are at 5ppm due to me over feeding. And he has no outward signs of ill health bar the white poop. Again, help?

I've had good results with Hikari prazipro.
Treats all internal and external parasites.
Also when you say your nitrates are at 5 due to overfeeding, 5 is perfectly fine.

In fact 5 is a little low for nitrates if you're completely cycled. White stringy poo can also be signs of a bacterial infection.

My nitrates are at 5 too - always have been in fact but then I have a lot of plants

Hi guys! Thanks for all your help so far.

It appears that this would be an excellent choice but unfortunately, they don't sell it in the UK but many many thanks!

A quick clarification on the nitrates if I may: Previously my nitrates would range between 5-10ppm weekly but I switched to a dirt substrate and have since never had nitrates above 0ppm, which is pretty much the goal of a dirt tank. That and the fact that I no longer need to dose any liquid chemical. My algae issues with this setup (0ppm nitrates) were 98% reduced within a month...

Hopefully I can find a good product that treats internal parasites and bacterial infection that is local to me.

I'm in the UK and ordered it from here http://www.discountedpetproducts.net/PRAZIPRO_-_SAFEST_PARASITE_TREATMENT_1OZ-UKP69849.html

but there's other products I have used and its worked such as king british disease clear.

I've come across this site before but I'm unsure of where it's based. How long did it take to arrive?

#41#### I don't think he has 7 days :shout: just did a little research and it appears that that store is actually shipping from outside the uk.

It always helps to know the conditions of the tank before deciding where a problem lies, substrate, age of tank, tankmates, etc. Just putting that out there.

Conditions of the tank...

Planted, dirt based capped with a unipac black gravel 2-3mm. C02 pressurized running at 1bps. Light 8 hours a day, bulbs 2x35w, Kelvin of 9000 &4000. Stocking: rummynose and lemon tetras, honey gourami, juli cory, and AP trifasciata. Only aggression comes from the tri female at feeding other than that the tank is peaceful. Ph 7 gh and kh I dont remember exactly but they are well within the safe parameters for my stock.
