I have three discus in a 15 gallon tank. Two of the fishes have white patches on the gill. I have treated them with KanaPlex and Pimafix. No improvement with both medication. The good thing is fishes are still eating. Any idea and suggestions??

Thanks.

That tank is too small for discus.
Right the white marks are they fluffy looking, as it could be parasites or columnaris.
Also need to know if there any other fish in the tank, plus stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

How long have you been using the med.

The patches do not look fluffy to me. The patches have been the same size for the last three weeks.
I know the tank is too small.
Does this disease spread if I put these fishes in the new 100 gallon tank?

Thanks

five days in total. Only three doses are allowed. Look strong and hence did a 50% water change in the sixth day.

By the way, the ph = 7.0, ammonia is 0 or minimal. I do not measure the rest. Comment? Thanks.

Using them two meds i would of expected to see some improvement if it was bacterial, i think i would do a 30% water change, run some black carbon, and add a parasite med to the tank.

What parasite med can you recommend? What is the purpose? Thanks for your info.

Because if the meds haven't made any difference it sounds like it could be parasites, any yellow on the gills like a dusting, is it possible to pull the gills flaps back and take a look behind them.
Need location for a med.

I would also get your water tested at the lfs as it could even be that.
