I just noticed that there is a white patch of something on my female betta. It's inbetween the eye and the gill on her right side.
You know how it looks when your skin starts to peel after getting a tan or a sunburn? That's what it looks like on her.
Not that HER scales are coming off.. that's just what the white patch looks like.
She won't stay still long enough for me to get a really good view of her, but I think I see a little bit of white near her mouth and on the same side as the patch, there's a small little white thing stuck to her pectoral fin.

I did notice yesterday that she kept swimming under one of her plants very near the gravel. She was also doing it again today when I woke up. Thinking back now.. and seeing the spot on her.. she could've been scratching herself on the gravel.
I didn't notice any white patches though.. I'm pretty sure she didn't have this yesterday.

I don't have an extra tank to place her in as the Q/H tank is being occupies atm... so whatever treatment will need to be done to the whole tank.
Medication I have...
Fungus Clear tablets says it clears fungus and bacteria
Maracyn 1 & 2
Tetracycline
Melafix (don't want to use this though)...
Quick Cure... says it cures parasite infestation

Here are some pics of her with areas in quetion circled...

Just added half a teaspoon of aquarium salt.
I think it's fungus but I'm not sure so waiting to treat the tank with anything else.

EDIT:
Ok I couldn't wait any longer.. getting paranoid and don't want this to go untreated for much longer...so I put in one of the fungus clear tablets.
If anyone thinks this might be something else or has any advice on what else I should do then pls share :)

The white thing on the fish can you describe it in more detail, looking at parasite to bacterial at the moment.
Any pink or red in with the white pathces.
Is she flicking and rubbing on things.

She started to swim up under that leaf again so I sat and watched her closely and she's definitely scratching herself on the gravel. She only does it in this certain spot though. Haven't noticed her flicking or scratching anywhere else.
Hard to tell if there is any red b/c her body is dark red/brown.
I just saw the white patch a bit better and it looks like there might be a slight pink spot right in the middle of the patch... looks like she might've cut herself or something. It's hard to tell though b/c she won't stay still :p

I would treat it as bacterial for now then, red or pink with a circling of white dead skin can be ulcers.
But also ulcers can be caused by parasites so keep an eye on things, good luck.

I'm gonna wait and see. If it looks worse tomorrow (or even later today), I'll do a big water change and start with some bacterial meds.

BLEH.. dangit.... I think I accidently cross contaminated my Q tank and my betta tank. Probably Q tank to the betta.. but who knows.
Earlier today I noticed that the panda cory has some white patches on it's dorsal and it's tail fin.
We went and got some Coppersafe. I put a dose of that stuff in every tank and also treated the Q tank with the fungus stuff as well.
Looks like the cory's spots have gone away, but it definitely isn't as active as it usually is... other corys in there are acting just fine.

Betta still has her spot though. After we got home from the store... I watched her for a bit. She went back to her scratching spot and was most definitely trying to scratch herself. Before it just looked like she was swimming up under the leaf but this past time.. she went sideways to get at that side and was scratching herself on the gravel.

Ok, corys are more prone to the bacterial side.
Columnaris can make fish flick and rub.
Keep us updated as you might need a bacterial med.
Good luck.

I did a super large water change out of the bettas tank and added in maracyn 1 & 2. My bettas spot just looks pink now with alittle bit of dead skin around the area. She's not scratching herself as much but she's still doing it.

Cory's spots have gone away and it's more active today that it was yesterday. Haven't added any bacterial med into their tank. Just did a large water change and added a little bit more of the fungus stuff to replace what was taken out.

Ok glad there on the mend bless them.
Good luck.
