Hi

I've currently got 2x20watt bulbs in my 125 litre fluval roma, I know, this is'nt a great wattage, so i was wondering if i put a layer of aluminium foil over the existing white reflectors, would it reflect more light? or would the white ones that are on it now be more efficient, thanks :good:

The shiny side of the aluminum would probably be better than the white. White is a good reflector but not as good as a shiny metal surface. Polished aluminum would be ideal, but is more expensive than white plastic.

The word on the street for 'recreational' growers is go white unless you're using speciality reflectors.
Stuff like tinfoil and mirrors don't cut it.

agree, white is a better reflector than foil. Most firms like arcadia and guissman will use white in there lighting systems.
