Hi,
I have just noticed a few white areas of fungus/mould on the wood in my tank.
The wood has been in the tank for just over a week and I've not noticed anything previously. The wood was soaked for about 2 weeks prior to putting in the tank and boiled a couple of times to get it to sink. There is also possibly a little bit on one of my plants as well.
The tank was fully cycled and I have good test readings (0 Ammonia & Nitrite and about 5 Nitrate - Ph~6.5/6.6.
Any ideas what this could be and could it be harmful to the fish (just guppies at the moment)?
Should I hold off on putting any other fish in the tank for the time being?
Also, I took the carbon filter sponge out on Sunday as I added Phenoxyethanol as I think some of my fish recently had cotton-wool fungus and died from this.
Cheers,
Dave.
