Hi,

I've noticed a nasty looking mark which has appeard on one of my dwarf gouramis.
It is just in front of the tail and is a raised white ring (looks a bit like a crater) with the scales in the centre of the ring missing. It's about 3-4mm in diameter.
Does anyone know what this might be?

Thanks

Sounds like an ulcer, just check to see if you can see a circling of red around the edges or a red spot centre.

I've already got some of the interpet stuff so I'll use that.

I'm due to do a water change tomorrow. Should I wait until after that to use the treatment or should I do the water change now and treat straight away?

Phil

Do the water change and treat now, do you have any melafix as well i would add that too, to treat in and out.

I don't have melafix but should be able to get some tomorrow. I'll sort out the water change and interpet med now.

Thanks for your help.

Phil

If you have no scaless fish you could add some salt.

They can tolerate small amounts but i would get the melafix instead, good luck.
