As per the title, I've just noticed 3 of my 6 Leopard Corys have small white lumps on then, but they're only above their eyes, nowhere else on the fish?!

Shall I just treat with a fungal med?

All the other fish in the tank are 100% fine and healthy, the Corys are not acting any different, show any signs of ill health, but the lumps are obviously not a good thing!

Cheers,

Ryan

Here's a pic...

It looks fungal, but wilder would know better...

I would point blame at the cichlids attacking the corys,i wouldn't advise keeping corys & cichlids together...

Hmmm, they're only baby dwarfs, can't see them doing much harm?!......

Both tanks are overstocked.
Can you post water stats please.

The lump do they have any redness or pinkness to them.
Have the lumps just suddenly appeared.
Do the lumps look hard, or soft like filled with fluid.
Any strands coming out of the lumps.
Just want to make sure the lumps don't resemble a cauliflower.
How do the fish eyes look.

Hi Wilder,

Water stats are:

pH: 7.6
NH3: 0
NO2: 0
NO3: 10

The lumps have just turned up, fish seem perfectly fine, good appetite and full of life.

Lumps look soft, kinda cloudy looking. No strands coming off of them. Don't look like cauliflower by any means.

Fishes eyes are fine, no glazing etc.

I'm treating with 11ml of Interpet No.8 as of today. One dose a week, with a WC 6 days from now. I will repeat if necessary.

Thanks,

Ryan

The corys really need to be isolated incase the lumps burst and infect the tank.

Is the NO 8 med anti finrot and fungus med.

Yea, thats the one.
I'll get the Corys in a separate tank asap.

I don't like that med it can cause side affects in fish.
It'\s crap to be honest.
If no improvement in a few days get back to the board.
If the fish start to act odd immediate water change.

Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

Fish are still fine, the lumps are still there, seem to have gone a more solid white.

Did a 90% water change today, gave the sand a good stir to get any potential parasites out. Just sitting and waiting now, hope they're ok!

Do a water change and run some black carbon.

Then use anti internal bacteria med by interpet, or esha 2000.

Does the solid growth look like a cauliflower.

Ok, I'll order some tonight, thanks.

No, the growths are pretty flat, only petrude a couple of mm.

The meds not working. It's the wrong med anyway.

After 2 water changes, the lumps are almost gone....

Not sure why they came around in the first place since I do two WCs a week and keep my tanks extremely clean.

Thanks all.

Ryan

Thanks for the update.

Just keep an eye on the lumps that they don't come back.
