White Light Blue Light

not wanting to appear thick but what is the blue light for?
I got this betta 40ltr tank saturday and it has 3 settings, ordinary light, blue light and ordinary light and a single blue LED for when the lights are off. My big tank has just one large light and my smaller tank has a strip of 5 white LEDs.
So what setting do I need and when, my wife turns the tank lights on at 14.00 and we turn them off at 21.00.

its nocturnal lighting. Allows you to view your tanks inhabitants that come out at night (snails, shrimps etc..) It can also help with reducing algae growth (not sure how much truth there is in this).

This is the tank with the white and blue combo on, doesnt look nocturnal to me. I think nocturnal setting could be just the small blue LED, to dark to photo.

ok i dont know for sure the but the combined white\blue might be to replicate a marine environment (i think i read that somewhere), someone please correct me if i'm wrong as i'm not 100%,

No that sounds about right, I have seen these tanks used for marine purposes, there is one on e-bay with a marine set up right now.
So do you think I should just use the white light?

Yep, aswell as replicating dawn and dusk blue lights are suppose to show up corals better too

I built an LED/RGB Canopy and light system for my cichlid
tank.

I am about to build my big tank. 120 long. I will be making a canopy and the lights
will be in what I call a "trolley" It will sit inside the canopy,
able to push back an inch to feed, and sit front end up at an angle for full
access, and removable.

I made a 1 minute cross fade from moonlight to daylight.
Then to show just how subtle it was there is a 3 second "sunset."
