Hey guys,

Over the weekend we redid the tank and added three pieces of mopini wood. Tonite when I came home from work I noticed a small area on one of them that has white fuzz growing on it.

What is this? Is this normal? How do I get rid of it?

thanks!

Valerie

Ok... wasn't sure what to do so I added a bit of melafix to the tank. Went to get the cleaning sponge to clear away the fuzz and came back to a spotless piece of mopini! :dunno: Guess I'll keep my eye on it and see what happens.

cheers!

I'm glad that the melafix worked. :)
I just had this problem the other day but managed to get rid of it by boiling my wood for 10 mins. From what I've researched, Mopani can get a bit of fungus if the wood wasn't soaked properly beforehand. It won't harm the fish but it certainly isn't nice to look at!

HTH :)
