White Fungus On Plant?

Does anyone know what this might be and what treatment will cure it?

It's basically white very thin and stringy, sort of similar to cotton wool strands but spaced out around the leaves and stems of my plants. It's totally rotted one of my plants(rapidly) and is starting to spread to another plant. I'll try to take some photos but dont think it will show any detail to identify what it is.
