Hi yall!

Gotta say I am still kinda new to the hobby only a year in with my bettas - all doing well in my main 30gal. Recently, like last month I started a new 10 gal tank with fair bit of Glofish Tetra's and even last week with some platy's using a quarantine bucket- and something is definitely in the water that is causing this fugus or mold. I can't even really identify it - some say "cotton fungus".

Can someone help identify and know how to get rid of it? It took my platy's and I don't want my Glofish Tetras to go too... I see some on the back of their fins already. I have to literally clean it out every day from my pump filter and suck it out off the glass in corners especially. It's literally on everything in my 10gal. Platy's in the bucket got it too and went bye-bye overnight.

4 weeks ago - Seachem Stability to start the tank.
4 weeks ago -EasyBalance to normalize the pH (6.4 still pretty low)
4 weeks ago - Seachem Paraguard for 2 weeks quarantine period
80F temp's consistent
1 Tbps Aquarium Salt each week
Water changes 25% every 5 days since cleaning this stuff siphons water (API AquaEssentials to neutralize)
Today - Seachem Kanaplex for fungal meds started today

Edit: Added pictures

We would need to have photos to even begin.

How long has the tank been active? Is it actually cycled? What are the water parameters such as PH, Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates?

It looks like you are adding a lot of chemicals. This is NEVER a good thing.

reposted with pics.
I would think its cycled - PH 6.4 still, no ammonia, No Nitrites, Nitrates on the API test strips.

Ohh man, this stuff is getting worst. What is it? It's all inside my filter too.

Hi rcatank,
So sorry for your fish!
Questions:
Are you using a specific water conditioner?
When did you set up the 10 gallon?
When did you add your fish?
What kind of filter, what kind of media the filter uses? Example would be bio balls, biofoam, activated carbon.
The hospital tank, quarantine tank, what kind of filter media in it?
Rising the filter and themedia in cool clean water is fine. Using soap is highly risky!
The photo of your platy's, is there sand/gravel on their bodies? And, your platy's scales, are they raised off of their body as the fish is alive? Is there raised scales on the other fish, too?
There questions help to get a better understanding.
Hang in there!

It is probably residue from the chemical cocktail that has been added, plus excess mucous on the fish due to aggravation from the chemicals.
There is a danger that pH fluctuations will continue for a day or two but stop using the Easybalance, pH needs to be consistent for the fish to survive long term. PH adjustment does not provide the stability that the fish need.
1. Do a 50% water change, use just enough Aqua essential for that 50% and match the temperature of the new water.
2. Increase aeration.
3. Add carbon to the filter if you have some.
4. Retest the tank for everything and post the results here. Also post the pH of the source water after it has been left to stand for 24 hours.
5. Then post new photos of the fish. It may be ich but it isn't clear on the other photos due to the excess mucous.
