White Cotton Wool Like Stuff On Substrate

yes fungi growing on the substrate. Probably on rotten food/plant matter etc.

So will I just hoover it up, change the water and anything else?

I'd say remove it, remove the substrate too and clean that really well and do atleast a 50% water change on the tank.

I have that problem in my substrate in my turtle tank (turtles replaced fish a week ago). I am going to change mine out when I get a chance. I hoover it and water change every day, but it grows fast.

Stinky 'orrible mouldy fungus dude. Thats what it is. Smell it when you hoover your substrate you'll see what I mean. Its not good...

once i got in and caught the culprits I have not been feeding all week as have bad back. My husband wanted to feed so has been feeding daphnia which I am now aware look like cotton if left uneaten. There was no bad smell dude but then cfc did tell me to clean tank twice a week so it does good to do so.
