I've noticed from reading this forum that many many people seem to have White Cloud Mountain Minnows. Is there a particular reason for this? I have not seen them at any of our lfs and wonder if it's a geographical fashion or if there is some other reason for their popularity?

i originally bought mine to add with the fancy goldfish as they were something different to look at and are very adaptable to water temperatures.
I still have my original fish from over a year ago and they have quite happily gone into a tropical environment. they are very colourful as well which helps and they mix well with other community fish.

theyre small easy to care for fish.that can go with goldifhs and bettas and are realitively cheap

All of the fish shops around here (Suffolk, England) have them, even Pets at Home (spit).
Try looking in the cold water section.

I bought mine to go with the goldfish and kept them when I moved over to tropical. They are small, extremely tough andI still have the same 6 I had a year ago
Im in N ireland and they are in nearly every fish shop I visit

I don't normally like small shoaling fish, but even I have some of these guys! :p
Mine are the gold variety and very colourful. They really brighten up a tank nicely :)

I keep them for the same reasons. Small, colourful, hardy, active, widely available and look stunning when flaring their fins at each other whilst moving round in circles. They aren't bothered by my zebra danios chasing them and I've even seen the danios on the running away side occassionaly :)

A mixed group of normal(greyish) and golden colour are perfectly happy grouping together and look excellent.
