I though I had gotten rid of this problem. But the same thing happened to my other two female rainbow fish.
water stats:
Ammonia & Nitrite-0
nitrate-around 30ppm
ph-7.6
temp-80*
Tank Stats:
15gal
fish- 9 other rainbow fish, and 1 koi swordtail
Bought 4 of these fish(p. sigifer) about 2.5 months ago. Within the first month I lost 2 of my females. They got these whitened areas on them, they would get worst over a two week period before dieing. After that it went away and I thought I had gotten rid of it. Waited a month then I bought 6 more rainbow fish 2 weeks ago and now it has shown up again. The fish is my last female P. signifer, who I have had for 2.5 months. The other fish are pale w/ a decrease in activity and appetite. Other than that I can't find anything wrong. The white area looks like it is internal, not on the skin. Any ideas what it is and how to deal with it?
