Which Wood To Get?

I will be taking out a large piece of bogwood tonight as it is turning my water brown (still clear but brown)

i will continue to soak it for a while till it stops turning water brown, first question do i need to put an airline in bucket with it??? or will it release it on its own?

Other question, can i use a piece or bark type wood? i know it will float but will it colour my tank?

It takes a long time for the wood to stop discoloring your tank. And no, I don't think the air stone would do anything.

indeed you should.

just soak it in a bucket of water, change the water every day until it's clear, this can take anything from a few days to months.

Thanks again for fast replies, had a look at link in signiture and it appears i am a doughnut i have a piece of Mopani wood not bogwood but i will treat it the same.
